Here is a mind blowing fact.

Did you know: We receive 6,000 to 10,000 ads each day

Not only do we get information overload, the intention behind these ads is to compel you to purchase somethinganything(Yay, capitalism). How do companies convince you to purchase something? They tell you you’re not good enough. They tell you that their product or service will help you become a better version of yourself so that they can sell more.

“You’re not good enough.”

“You need to lose weight.”

“You need this (product) to feel better about yourself”

The more we hear and see these types of messaging, the more it invades our thoughts and behaviors. We begin to attach our identity to the messaging we consume and talk to ourselves the same way.

The first week I talked about my top 5 body boundaries.

One of them was:

4. Unfollow, unsubscribe, block, delete anyone and anything that criticizes body images or makes you feel insecure about your body.

At some level, we have the ability to control the messaging we consume. Similarly to the saying “You are a reflection of the company you keep”, I believe your thoughts come from the messaging you hear and see repeatedly.

So again, take that action step now - unfollow, unsubscribe, block and delete anyone and anything that criticizes your appearance. I invite you to reply to this email and say “I did it! I unfollowed and unsubscribed to everything that makes me feel insecure.” Let me help you stay accountable. You subscribed for a reason, now it's time to take some action.
